Are coleus toxic to cats?

We get a lot of questions about whether coleus plants are toxic to cats. Some cats can not help but chew on the plants you have at home. It is believed that it may have to do with folic acid that the plants contain, get rid of hairballs or that the cat simply thinks it is fun to chew on plants.

You do not have to worry about having coleus (coleus scutellarioides) plants at home for they are not toxic to cats or dogs 🌱 🐈 🦮
